BAM took pole position in the March new-look contracts league rankings tracking new orders secured by leading contractors.

The firm topped the rankings with its big Manchester Arena win as the Enquirer in partnership with Barbour ABI launches new interactive league tables for you to use.

Now you can generate your own bespoke tables – searching for top-performing firms in any particular work sector and over different time periods.

The new tables are easy and free to use. To get started visit our data page here and follow the simple instructions on how to generate your own customised rankings.

In the latest contracts data collected by Barbour ABI for March, Multiplex came a close second behind BAM after signing off its contract to convert the former US Embassy in London’s Grosvenor Square into a 6-star hotel for developer Qatari Diar.

A new player in the highways maintenance sector Milestone Infrastructure also makes its debut.

Owned by expanding M Group Services, the firm has started to legally take over maintenance contracts across the south of England following a £50m deal last year to buy Skanska UK’s infrastructure services operation.

Among the other big wins that saw the industry’s order books start to swell again, a joint venture between Volker Rail and Story Contracting secured an £80m contract for the delayed Hope Valley railway upgrade between Manchester and Sheffield.

Warehouse specialist builder Winvic and TSL continued to benefit from the logistic boom with shed jobs in Knowsley for Peel Group and in Suffolk for Jaynic Properties respectively.

While in London, Laing O’Rourke secured a £60m office job for Stanhope in White City on the west side of the Television Centre campus.

New interactive contracts league

This new service will allow you to generate custom made tables that can rank contractors by type of work secured and over different time periods.

Here’s how to create your own league tables:

Simply click the Select Your Criteria bar to choose whether to generate a client or contractor league table. Then decide whether to select for all work secured or specific sectors. Now click the Hide Item bars above your selections and your customised league will be revealed.

You are then able to fine-tune the rankings further by selecting time frames of one month, three months or 12 months. You can also generate a Top 10, 50 or 100 rankings.

And, of course, like the rest of our data page it’s all completely free for readers.
