AGD is looking to win work on major projects like HS2 which is being built near its five-acre purpose built facility in Stratford upon Avon, Warwickshire.
The company has invested in more than 500 solar panels fitted to its office and workshop roof tops to produce green, renewable energy with any surplus is fed back to the grid.
The solar energy is used to power AGD’s fleet of electric and hybrid company vehicles while the latest LED lighting technology automatically adjusts to the amount of daylight outside and motion sensor control ensures it is switched off when no one is present in the room.
AGD’s purpose built wash facility recycles all of the water utilised for cleaning machines and only dry soils are disposed of as a result which reduces the amount of lorry movements.
The company has invested heavily in recent years to upgrade its hire fleet with the latest equipment fitted with tier 4 & tier 5 engines resulting in cleaner air for all.
And all vans are fitted with speed limiters for safety and to minimise fuel consumption while drivers follow anti-idling, routing and scheduling policies in line with their FORS accreditation.
