Race for £1.3bn North West & Central railway works

Network Rail has started the hunt for firms to deliver a £1.3bn smaller works and renewal programme for control period 7 in its north west and central territory.

Procurement chiefs aim to let several frameworks covering the “Backbone of Britain” route.

A refreshed line-up of firms will deliver a mix of civil engineering, building and electrification and plant work for the next 5-year period from 1 April 2024 to 31st March 2029.

The territory covers assets from London Euston and Marylebone in the south through the Chiltern and West Midlands regions, the North West of England and Cumbria.
