Design and build contractor HG Construction is holding rescue talks with one of its main bathroom pod suppliers.

The Enquirer understands that Hull based bathroom pod specialist Kubex UK may need financial help to complete its existing contracts.

Kubex is understood to be supplying pods on a number of HG residential jobs.

Adam Quinn, CEO, HG Construction, said: “We are working closely with the Kubex management team to explore the best options going forward.

“We are committed to providing high quality, pre-manufactured pods on our schemes and are confident that we can find a solution to ensure continuity of supply.”

Kubex UK has been in business since 2009 and latest accounts show it employs 36 staff.

Companies House records show that managing director Anthony Cook incorporated a new Hull based company called Kubex Bathroom Solutions Ltd last month.

One local industry source said: “Kubex has been winning work with bids which raised more than a few eyebrows with competitors.

“Main contractors still get swayed by the lowest price which can often cost them more in the long run.”
