As a result of the planned expansion, the English company Henry Brothers Midlands Ltd will now operate as Henry Brothers Construction going forward.

It will also move from its existing office in the Midlands to larger premises in Nottingham.

The strategy change comes after the firm picked up a £12m job to refurbish The University of Manchester’s Chemistry Building to create flexible lab space, purpose-built write-up spaces, break-out areas, and offices.

In the year to March 2022, the firm has seen revenue double to £59m generating a pre-tax profit of £2m with cash at £21m.

Ian Taylor, managing director of Henry Brothers Construction, said: “This is a natural and exciting next step for us, allowing us to build on our proven track-record and deliver inspiring, innovative, and great value projects across the UK.”

The firm is presently on eight major frameworks. These include Pagabo Major Works, Crown Commercial Service’s Construction works and associated services 2, Procure23 to provide design and construction services to NHS capital projects in the East and West Midlands, and the Department for Education’s 2021 framework for projects from £6m to £12m for the East of England.

Henry Brothers Construction is part of The Henry Group, headquartered in Magherafelt, Northern Ireland, which comprises several manufacturing and construction firms specialising from external construction through to interiors fit-out.
