HMS and Sovini win £1.2bn Torus housing upkeep deal

Liverpool affordable housing group Torus has picked local contractors HMS and Sovini Property Services to manage and maintain its 40,000 homes.

Worth £1.2bn, Torus’ new framework is the largest ever let by the North West housing association and will see the Liverpool contractors delivering a myriad of planned maintenance, reactive and emergency repairs.

HMS has been appointed as the Tier 1 contractor for £450m of work and Sovini Property Services as the Tier 2 contractor on the framework.

Torus has owned HMS since 2019 as a standalone venture which turns over of around £100m a year. Work will start this April.

HMS Managing director, Paul Worthington said: “Having worked with the Torus Group since 2019, the HMS team is delighted to continue our partnership.

“We have a long history of collaborating with teams across the Torus Group and are looking forward to building on the strong foundations we already have and keep providing a fantastic service to Torus tenants.”

Mike Dale, Head of Services and Growth at Sovini Property Services, added: “We’re delighted to be appointed onto the framework, working in collaboration with Torus who share similar values.”
