UK Power Networks has named contractor Networks Plus to deliver essential works from Hertfordshire to Cambridgshire for the RIIO-ED2 investment period
Starting work in April, this 5-year initial term contract will see its teams working across parts of the Chilterns, Borehamwood and the Bedford/Cambridge area. Network Plus will be responsible for distribution assets, including overhead lines, underground cabling and substations on LV, 11kV, and 33kV networks. The new distribution network projects and programmes deal builds on the success of its ongoing storm response services for UK Power Networks. Ian Nelmes, Contract Director at Network Plus, said: “Having supported UK Power Networks with storm response services for a number of years, we are looking forward to working with them to deliver this new contract.” Throughout the contract, Network Plus will implement an apprentice trainee and graduate programmes, as well as other upskilling opportunities through its Network Plus Academy.
