Just 12 months ago the company went on a recruitment drive at its factory to fill 40 new construction roles at its offsite manufacturing facility in Norwich.
The company said it had run into cash flow problems following project delays.
The firm was founded in 2009 by Passivhaus pioneer and environmentalist Ron Beattie.
Beattie said: “Having explored all strategic options, it is with deep regret that we have today filed a Notice of Intention to appoint administrators and paused operations. My family and I founded this business 15 years ago to deliver the types of high-quality, energy-efficient homes our country so desperately needs, while creating highly skilled, green jobs within the local communities we operate.
“I want to express my sincere thanks to all of those who have helped Beattie Passive become the pioneering company it is today, and we will continue to explore all possible options as part of our strategic review.”
Last year Beattie won a coveted place on a £600m modern methods of construction framework for new home building run by procurement body LHC.
It also had places on the Offsite Homes Alliance £2bn offsite national modular construction framework and has been named as a supplier for two lots on the Crown Commercial Service’s off-site construction solutions framework.
