Lendlease Construction UK has been renamed Bovis after new US private equity owner Atlas Holdings completed the deal yesterday to buy the Australian firm’s UK contracting business.

The rebranding to Bovis resurrects the name retired 14 years ago and hails back to the company’s founding in 1885.

Bovis will be led by David Cadiot, who has been named chief executive officer of the now independently operated Bovis, and his executive leadership team, all of whom are long-serving staff.

Cadiot will lead Bovis as CEO

“The Lendlease UK team, now once again known as Bovis, has a long track record of successfully delivering large, complex projects and we look forward to working with their talented Leadership Team and associates to build upon the Bovis legacy in this next chapter,” said Atlas operating partner and member of the Bovis board of directors Peter Bacon.

Bovis has been involved in many of the country’s iconic construction projects.

These includes the rebuilding works of Regents Street in 1923, Lloyds of London’s City Head Quarters in 1980, the first phase of Canary Wharf in 1991 and more recently projects including The Athlete’s Village for the 2012 Olympics, extensive works in the defence and justice sectors and 8 Bishopsgate in the City of London in 2024.

Founded in 2002, Atlas and its affiliates own and operate 26 companies, including cladding contractor Permasteelisa.

Its conglomerate of companies turn over $16bn annually, employing more than 50,000 staff across 350 facilities worldwide.
