The two-year contract, with the option to extend for another two years, covers the remediation and installation of both 60-minute and 30-minute (FD60 and FD30) compliant fire-rated door sets for individual flats and within communal areas.
Sheffield City Council has brought in Harmony Fire to fast-track its safety modernisation programme.
The job will be delivered from the contractor’s Chesterfield base, with the door sets also manufactured locally to slash transport emissions and boost sustainability.
Councillor Douglas Johnson, chair of the council’s housing policy committee, said: “We hope people are reassured by the improved safety measures many will see begin to be installed at their properties in the coming weeks and months.”
Amos Thomas, Harmony Fire’s pre-construction director, said early input on specifications and scheduling had been key to getting the programme set up for success.
