The water company hopes to appoint between two and five contractors to deliver the programme.
Works will include structural renewal and relining of mains, full replacement of service connections, installation of boundary boxes, and removal of abandoned assets.
The “Main Rehab Framework – Build Only” will run for an initial four years from December 2025, with the option to extend by another four, taking the potential duration to eight years.
Call-offs will be let either by direct award or mini-competition, with quality weighted at 60% and price at 40%.
Thames Water is encouraging SME participation, with the deadline for requests to participate set for 19 September.
The utility expects to award the framework in late November.
