The local authority is acting on behalf 18 public sector clients planning to spend up £750m over the next four years.
Once firms have been shortlisted, formal bidding for a place on the renewed framework covering a host of new-build and refurbishment opportunities will get under one.
Carillion and Laing O’Rourke, which both came up trumps on the last area framework, are expected to among the 11 existing incumbents battling for a place for the next four years.
The framework will include a major works lot for projects over £15m as well as several for much smaller projects to spread work among smaller contractors.
