Naked consultants fined for jumping into fountain

Six British consultants have been fined for cavorting naked in a historic fountain in the centre of Rome.

The group were letting off steam after attending a conference in the city.

The Daily Mail reported that the six had been named locally as senior staff from Cirencester based Environmental Dimension Partnership.

The firm’s website states that it specialises in “independent environmental planning and design advice to the landowners, property and energy sector clients throughout the UK from offices in the Cotswolds, Shrewsbury and Cardiff.”

The group outraged locals after stripping off and cavorting in La Fontana delle Naiadi.

Four men and two women were handed fines of £124 at the local police station.

The Mail reported that bystanders described how the group spent about “half-an-hour singing and shouting” as a crowd of people filmed and took pictures.

Several onlookers tried to intervene including one man with a dog who argued with the group.

It was not until officers from the municipal police arrived and ordered them to get out that they finally covered up.

One official said the group “were clearly drunk” but “became very civilised when we asked them to get out”.

An EDP spokesman said: “EDP is exceptionally disappointed in the behaviour of some of our team in Italy over the weekend and it is something we are taking extremely seriously.

“The six individuals had been part of a group of just under 70 EDP employees who had attended a corporate event in Rome on Friday evening.

“Following the conclusion of this event, everyone was able to spend their free time in Rome over the weekend.

“EDP very much regrets any offence that has been caused, and we are considering the appropriate disciplinary action.”
