Kilkern is targeting the construction, water, rail, tunnelling and utility sectors with its new service.
Contractors also hire the required plant off Kilkern alongside experienced labour, supervisors and engineers.
Kilkern managing director Patrick Curran said: “Every year there are thousands of cable strikes on jobs which cause death and injury and cost contractors millions in claims and compensation.
“A growing number of contractors are turning to us because they are not prepared to trust traditional employment agencies to carry out highly safety critical work particularly involving utility diversions and trench support as the cost of getting it wrong can be too high.”
Kilkern is currently on the prefered supplier list for many of the largest contractors in the UK including Skanska, Amey, BAM and Balfour Beatty.
Curran said: “Our service is unique in procurement terms because it offers a new approach being neither traditional labour agency nor subcontractor.
“Clients typically hire the labour and Plant off Kilkern for the duration of the works and an open book set margin is charged on top of the staff, labour and plant.
“All the workers are specialised in excavating safely and have been through in-depth training in confined space, trench support and cable avoidance.
“We also believe the quality of the plant is key to safe excavating and have teamed up with Groundforce, A Plant and Flannery”
