Betting Spy: Birmingham and Stoke to upset odds

Birmingham did us a real favour last week by turning over Chelsea at a tasty 9/2 – and the bookies have underestimated the Midlanders once again in their trip to Fulham this weekend.

The bookies have chalked Birmingham up at 3/1 to win at Craven Cottage. That looks too tasty a price to resist so let’s reinvest some of our winnings with Bet365.

The Blues will be flying after humbling Chelsea last Saturday while Fulham are coming off the back of a 4-1 trouncing at home by Man City.

Football is all about confidence and the bookies seem to have misjudged which team will be coming into this one with their heads held high.

Stoke are another side under-rated by the oddsmakers and the Potters look decent value at 5/2 with William Hill for a home win against Man City.

Things aren’t quite right at City with last week’s Fulham win merely papering over the cracks of what looks like a divided camp.

Stoke are just the sort of side who revel in upsetting the big boys and should be backed to see off their billionaire visitors.

Back on planet West Ham, and Avram Grant is still clinging onto his job despite leading his team of overpaid “stars” to just one win from their first 14 matches.

Last week’s spineless capitulation to Liverpool was a new low point in a season which has only failed to disappoint in its number of disappointments.

At least the complaints about watching from behind an athletics track if we get the Olympic stadium have subsided.

I’d be happy if they built another eight lanes around it if it meant I couldn’t see the full horror of what was happening on the pitch.

For the first time in my life I’m almost hoping West Ham lose on Saturday if it finally means an end to Grant’s disastrous reign – what a state to let a great club get into.
