But one had me spluttering on my cornflakes this week as reports emerged that West Ham were eyeing up a summer swoop for John Terry.

“JT Captain, Leader, Legend” reads the fawning banner unfurled at most games by Chelsea fans.

I’m sure the West Ham faithful could come up with their own triptych for Terry but I doubt it would be as complimentary.

Stranger things have happened in football but I’m sure a lucrative last season in China would be more appealing to JT than being abused by both sets of fans at every game.

Chelsea are in action this weekend in the FA Cup and I fancy their chances at home to beat what could be a fairly weak Man City side.

Pellegrini’s men are in Champions League action next week and the manager will prioritise that competition leaving Chelsea facing a second string.

Desire is a big driver at this stage of the cup and Everton should be full of enough of it to beat Bournemouth.

The Cherries will have their sights fixed on Premier League survival while a cup run is the only real chance for Everton to pull something out of this season.

For the third leg of my treble it’s up north we go to Ewood Park where West Ham should have too much for Blackburn.
