The first building at the site known as The Core has now opened and Bowmer & Kirkland is constructing a second Urban Sciences Building for completion in September 2017.
The next building to follow is the Learning and Teaching Centre, which is estimated to cost £21m to build and should get underway at the start of 2017.
It will provide the University with additional lecture, teaching and office facilities and is to be designed to BREEAM Excellent when completed in July 2019. This exercise will be for the appointment of the main contractor for the LTC scheme.
This bidders event for the LTC scheme will be held at 10am on Thursday 23rd June, in The Core, Science Central, Bath Lane, Newcastle upon Tyne NE4 5TF.
The project team – Sheppard Robson Architects, Faithful + Gould and Muckle – will outline the scheme and answer questions.
