Essex based housing maintenance specialist Chigwell Construction is predicting a 75% growth in turnover during 2011 following the demise of rivals Connaught and Rok.

Managing director Dean Floyd said Chigwell picked-up a series of new contracts this year and also made a bid for Rok’s operations in London and the south east.

Chigwell enjoyed a turnover of £6m for the year to January 2010 which is expected to rise to £6.8m for the 12 months to January 2011.

Floyd expects turnover for the year to January 2012 to surge to £11.9M.

He told the Enquirer: “The past twelve months have been very difficult times for the construction sector as a whole, us included.

“When Connaught entered administration, they owed us just over £300,000.

“Thankfully we are a strong company and, although it would be a lie to say the loss didn’t affect us, we are very proud to say we swallowed the bitter pill and believe  we have learnt a lot and become very credible with suppliers and clients.

“We are concentrating very hard in securing good top end management in the coming months, and are currently putting in place the infrastructure to allow the company to take the next major step in growth, ensuring profit margins and the service delivery to our clients is maintained.

“We are a company which is constantly learning and understanding the needs and requirements of our clients, and believe that is one of the main reasons for the success and growth in Chigwell Construction.”
