Last month half a dozen contractors – including Laing O’Rourke, Skanska and Brookfield – were all asked to work up designs for a new £90m cancer treatment centre at Guy’s Hospital, close to London Bridge railway station.
Laing O’Rourke has also made the latest list asked to come up with design concepts for a £21m scheme to reclad a 13-storey tower at St Thomas’ Hospital.
The full list of contractor/architect teams is:
Galliford Try/AHMM
Laing O’Rourke/David Morley Architects
Josef Gartner/Denton Corker Marshall
Geoffrey Osborne/Grimshaw
ISG/Hopkins Architects
BAM Construction/Penoyre & Prasad
All teams have until the beginning of August to come up with design concepts under the RIBA-organised competition.
Recladding is due to be carried out without having to move people out of the building and is designed to improve the energy efficiency of the building.
