McLaren has won three of the four phases for the scheme in Waltham Forest backed by Tesco’s development arm.
Work is already underway on the residential phase for 80 apartments and 14 houses which is due for completion by March 2012.
The second and third phases of the development include the construction of a 37,000 sq ft Tesco superstore with basement car parking, a first floor service yard, 24 private sale apartments, A1-A3 units, business units, and four light Industrial units with associated office space.
Work on the second and third phases will complete by November 2012.
Phil Pringle, managing director, McLaren Construction Group, said: “This project presents the opportunity to make a valuable contribution to the development pipeline in East London and to inward investment in the region and corporately, sees us strengthening our existing experience in the mixed use and retail sectors.”
The large civil and infrastructure works associated with the development will be delivered by McLaren as part of the contract, including reconfiguring sections of a main road and introducing traffic lights, a pedestrian crossing and traffic island.
