Betting Spy: Spurs and QPR double pays 15/2

It’s derby time in London this weekend and I fancy a tasty little double which pays a shade over 15/2.

Tottenham and QPR can make us some cash and I can see Spurs finding plenty of ways through that dodgy Arsenal defence.

The Gunners won in midweek against Olympiakos – but all the familiar failings were there to see in a back four which looks as secure as a Greek bank.

The whole of the Emirates stadium was getting the jitters every time Olympiakos crossed the half way line.

And I’m sure Defoe, Bale and Adebayor can’t wait to have a run at that very thin red line.

It’s almost written that Adebayor will come back to haunt his old side and Spurs are a confident punt to get our double off to a flyer.

The next leg is a little riskier. But at 3/1 QPR are just too big a price to win at Craven Cottage.

Fulham are yet to record a home win this season while the Hoops have been unlucky not to pick up more points after dominating matches but not scoring.

They look lively going forward and could spring a few surprises if one of their strikers suddenly hits form.

Fulham meanwhile are treading water at the moment under Martin Jol and could fall victim to an exuberant QPR.

Talking of treading water, it was a fairly depressing night over at Upton Park on Tueday as Big Sam’s men slid to defeat by Ipswich.

Ipswich passed us off the park and the East London crowd are getting concerned about the lack of impact so far from £50,000-a-week captain Kevin Nolan.

He should be tearing this league apart but is sauntering around with the look of a man who thinks you don’t need to graft for your quality to shine through.

Our love of the long ball is fairly depressing for a crowd bought up on passing football but hopefully as the team starts to gel we’ll actually get the ball down on the floor more and play it to feet.

Seeing John Carew lumber around in an oversized shirt trying to deflect balls off his huge forehead to no-one in particular is not what the signwriter had in mind when he wrote “Welcome to the Academy of Football” on the players’ tunnel exit.
