TClarke breaks into smart building control market

Building services specialist TClarke has struck a deal taking it into the smart building control market as momentum builds to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050 in the UK.

The firm today revealed it has struck a five-year deal with intelligent building specialists Gooee to sell, install and maintain its smart building products.

As part of this agreement, TClarke has made a small but strategic investment in the global firm.

The technology unites all siloed building control and management systems into one single screen control panel.

The new deal was revealed as TClarke reported that results were on track for last year with it achieving a 3% operating margin on revenue just ahead of last year at £335m.

The firm also said it had now secured four major London schemes, taking the forward order book to over £400m, with 76% of targeted revenue secured for 2020.

Mark Lawrence, TClarke CEO, said the deal with Gooee allowed the firm to become an intelligent FM provider and would further enhance its recurring revenue stream.

TClarke will also boost revenues from the sale and installation of the products and a share of ongoing recurring revenue streams from subscription services as well as supporting and adding value to all of its existing markets.

He said: “We are excited about the very significant potential of the Gooee technology.

“Gooee allows building owners to significantly reduce their carbon footprint, it is ready to scale in the UK and other markets.

“We look forward to working together with the Gooee team to transform building performance.”

The Government’s Committee on Climate Change has said that if the UK’s target to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050 is to be achieved all new buildings will need to be net-zero carbon within a decade.

In support of this, a new initiative by the Better Buildings Partnership has seen 23 of the UK’s major commercial property owners sign up to a commitment to tackle the growing risks of climate change through the delivery of net-zero carbon real estate portfolios.

Lawrence said that Gooee’s revolutionary PropTech platform was ideally positioned to assist building owners in meeting these challenges.
