Moore was promoted to the top job after long-term chief John Anderson stepped down during the process to find a buyer for the housing business.

His departure comes as city investors eagerly await confirmation of a buyer for the housing business to release funds to reduce the group’s heavy debt.

Today Kier confirmed that former McCarthy & Stone group sales & marketing director David Bridges has joined to head Kier Living.

Simon Kesterton, Kier chief financial officer said: “Following Nick Moore’s decision to leave the business, David Bridges has joined as chief executive officer of Kier Living.

“David is an experienced house builder having held main board positions with McCarthy & Stone, Taylor Wimpey UK, Linden Homes and Keepmoat and I’m delighted to confirm his appointment.”
