A-one+ is the incumbent contractor after holding the region for two consecutive terms.

Area 12 is one of the largest and busiest road networks in the UK comprising 494km of motorways and trunk roads and over 1,400 structures. Four hundred staff are directly employed, as well as a supply chain comprising over 100 suppliers.

The successful tenderer will be required to provide all routine and response maintenance, incident response, severe weather services, as well as renewal and small scale improvement projects, on the Yorkshire and Humber network.

The winner will also be required to sign the Highways England Fair Payment Charter as a condition of acceptance of its tender.
