HBS will be supplying a combined package for all plumbing and heating, electrical, EV charging and solar PV installations for 127 properties at the major redevelopment of the former Princess Royal Barracks.
HBS has been working in partnership with Bovis Homes and its network of regional offices for more than 20 years, providing a complete building services solution to support the delivery of high-quality and energy-efficient housing.
James Hayter, Electrical Director, HBS Electrical said: “We are delighted to be able to maintain our excellent working relationship with Vistry Group and secure the exciting Bovis Homes Mindenhurst project.
“The group package award is a testament to our multi-disciplinary building services expertise and continued focus on providing industry-leading workmanship.
“We look forward to supporting the Thames Valley office to build more high-quality new homes in Deepcut, managing all aspects of the mechanical, electrical, EV charging and solar PV requirements.”
In addition to the mechanical and electrical contract award, Bovis Homes selected HBS to provide a solar PV and EV charging solution to ensure the Mindenhurst development meets its planning conditions and energy reduction targets within budget.
This will see HBS design, supply, install and commission a combination of single-phase Complete In-roof Solar systems and three-phase non-penetrative ballasted systems. Totalling 82 kWp, the solar arrays will range in size from 3 to 3.6 kWp for the houses and 12.6 to 15.6 kWp for the apartment blocks.
The inclusion of solar panels is set to provide a sustainable energy source to help power the new homes, reducing energy costs for homeowners, while cutting overall emissions by up to 36 tonnes per year.
HBS will also be installing 82 x 7.2 kW wall-mounted EV charging points to the houses and 12 x 7.2 kWh pedestal EV chargers to the apartment parking bays. This will make sure that the Bovis Homes Mindenhurst development is future-proofed and ready for electric vehicles.
