He replaces his father Kevin Bull who has now stepped down from his position as Managing Director after more than 35 years at the helm,

Kevin will remain within the business as Chairman assisting Charles and the HBS Senior Management Teams to ensure a smooth transition.

As HBS enters its 72nd year of trading, the appointment marks a new stage in HBS’ business journey.

Charles represents the third generation of the Bull family to take the helm at the group and will be closely supported by Paul Bailey and James Hayter leading the operational and commercial elements of the business, respectively.

HBS strives to be a preferred M&E Building Services Contractor of choice for the house building industry.

Kevin Bull, Chairman, HBS Group Southern said: “Charles has over a decade of Construction Management experience including four years as the Operations Director of our commercial renewables division. So, I am confident he is more than up to the challenge to lead HBS in delivering on our client’s needs and expectations in the years ahead.

“In the last 18 months, Charles has built an in-depth understanding of our business, shadowing myself and picking up responsibilities as I have handed them over to him.”

Charles Bull, Managing Director, HBS Group Southern added: “My father and grandfather have led HBS these past 72 years and it’s a real privilege to have the opportunity to steer the strategic direction of the company.

“We have a superb team in place, one of real collaboration working with each other, for each other. HBS is continually looking to the future, being proactive to innovate the ways we can support our clients and help deliver modern, energy-efficient housing to an industry-leading quality.

“I am pleased that my father has decided to stay on board and take the position of Chairman. His experiences cannot be taught from a book and his guidance will be invaluable as we drive the business forward. I look forward to dedicating myself to HBS, our employees, subcontractors, clients, and our future successes together.”

Kevin Bull added: “With a clear vision for our future, Charles and the HBS Senior Management Team are taking steps to future-proof HBS’ operations so we can continue to deliver the highest standards of service and quality. I am confident it will be an important step to implementing the business’ growth plans and support our client’s efforts to build more high-quality, sustainable homes.”
