The asset purchase agreement encompasses both SERS Energy Solutions Group and its Scottish arm, bringing the long-established insulation and retrofit specialist under Cardo’s umbrella.
Founded in 1990, SERS has built a track record in external wall insulation and retrofit upgrades, working for councils and housing providers across England, Wales, and Scotland.
The acquisition marks Cardo’s latest strategic move, following its recent takeover of Breyer Group’s roofing division from administrators, a deal that saved 100 jobs.
Cardo, backed by private equity, has now made seven acquisitions since its formation two years ago from social housing contractor LCB Group, aiming to support social housing providers with maintenance, compliance, retrofit, and decarbonisation needs .
Cardo Group CEO Liam Bevan said: “Bringing the SERS team into Cardo Group marks an exciting opportunity to combine our shared expertise and values, all focused on improving homes across the UK. This next step gives us a stronger platform to invest in our people, grow our capabilities, and deliver even more value to our clients.”
With this acquisition, Cardo continues to expand its footprint in the UK’s building maintenance and energy efficiency sectors, reinforcing its commitment to delivering high-quality solutions that improve homes and transform lives.
