James Haddon steps up to the newly-created board role of director of low carbon solutions reflecting the firm’s push to cut fossil fuel use and deliver greener infrastructure for clients.

Eastern chief Barhale James Haddon promoted to new board position of Director of Low Carbon Solutions while Joe Solomon steps up to fill vacated role
Haddon first joined Barhale as a site engineer in 1988 and returned in 2015 after nine years at AECOM.
He has since led the Eastern region where his role will now be filled by Joe Solomon, previously head of commercial (Eastern).
Solomon joined Barhale in 2012 as a quantity surveyor after six years at M.A.R.S. Construction, rising through the ranks to take a lead role in the @one Alliance for Anglian Water, where Barhale is a founding partner.
Chief executive Martin Brown said: “James and Joe are natural choices for these roles. Accelerating our carbon solutions offering is a key element of our growth strategy and James’s expertise and wealth of experience provide an ideal combination to lead the drive.”
Brown added both moves reflect Barhale’s focus on promoting talent from within.
