The German hotel operator has gained planning for a 14-storey hotel next to Piccadilly Station in Manchester as part of its rapid expansion plans in the UK.
Construction is now expected to start early next year, with Vinci and Galliford Try among those said to have submitted bids two months ago for the 330-room hotel.
In London, several contractors are in the race to secure the £20m contract to build a 300-room hotel at Fenchurch Street, with ISG and John Sisk among the firms bidding the job.
Developer Lugano Group has also received the green light from Newcastle city council to build a 222-bedroom hotel in the city centre High Bridge.
Several contractors, including McAleer & Rushe, Vinci, GB Building and McAlpine, are chasing the £10m building job, which is expected to get underway this year.
Developer Buccleuch Property has also submitted planning for a scheme in Glasgow, which will see a 374-bed hotel, bar and restaurant built in Argyll Street for a cost of around £20m.
