The new arrivals will replace some older machines but overall represent an increase in Murphy’s fleet.
London dealer Capital Plant Solutions delivered the excavators, which include 21 Volvo EC17Cs (1.7 tonnes), along with four ECR88 Plus excavators (8.8 tonnes), a brace of EC20Cs and EC27s, an EC55C and an ECR38 short swing radius machine.
“We choose the Volvo product in particular as they prove to be highly popular with our operating gangs,” said Murphy Plant and Transport Director Michael Hayes.
Most of the new arrivals will be deployed on contracts underway in Yorkshire and Cumbria.
