Gareth Evans had been responsible for labour relations at the contractor since September 2009.
A Skanksa statement said: “It is with deep regret that we report the death of Gareth Evans, Skanska’s Head of Industrial Relations, on Sunday, 2 February 2014.
“His passing is a great loss to the company and to the construction industry.
“Our thoughts and sympathies are with Gareth’s family at this time.”
The circumstances of his death could not be confirmed by the contractor.
He was believed to be working on a number of negotiations with unions recently including industrial relations on the Crossrail site.
