The deal will see Kier provide responsive repair services to over 10,000 Genesis’ properties, as well as undertaking planned maintenance work across the whole Genesis portfolio of 33,000 homes.

Kier is understood to have beaten Willmott Dixon and Mitie to secure the job, whicc drew on feedback from residents during the rigorous tender process.

The contract has been designed to build on and refine existing operations and ensure that customers in all regions receive consistent and high standards of responsive repairs.

The contractor has pledged to use of local subcontractors and suppliers, and work with Genesis to open up employment and apprenticeship opportunities to residents.

Kier and Genesis are now mobilising the contract, and will be phasing in the start of external painting work from mid-July, with responsive repairs starting in mid-October.
