McLaren Construction has appointed Paul Spiller as Group Commercial Director.

Spiller was previously London commercial director at Sir Robert McAlpine and left earlier this year following a restructure.

He joins former colleague Paul Heather who left McAlpine last year to become group managing director at McLaren.

Spiller will build on McLaren’s recent success in delivering a range of public and private sector projects through repeat business and frameworks across its Major Projects, London and South, Midlands and North and UAE divisions.

He said: “Joining such a professional and resilient business, one of the largest private companies in the UK, brings huge opportunity.

“I am delighted to contribute to such a strong team and be part of McLaren’s journey in exceeding client expectations, expanding in new and existing sectors, and future-proofing the business in response to new legislation, up-skilling and embracing new technologies.”

Heather added: “By joining McLaren as part of the main board, Paul brings a wealth of experience and relationships from across the UK construction industry with both customers and the supply chain, providing excellent strategic insight into new markets and sectors.

“Paul is a great addition to the team and will contribute to the growth of McLaren over the coming years as we develop agile ways of working and will be key to unlocking opportunities for McLaren in our target sectors, while building our long-term resilience.”

Chairman of McLaren Construction, Kevin Taylor, said:“I welcome Paul to the business and look forward to working with him to support our strategic growth plan, exploring opportunities in new markets and enhancing our position in existing sectors. I am sure Paul will complement the excellent McLaren team and contribute to our continued success.”
