Walker Modular wins bathroom pod deal at Berkeley tower

Bathroom pod specialist Walker Modular has won the latest major package from Berkeley Group at its 58-storey Harcourt Gardens luxury residential tower at South Quay Plaza in London’s Docklands.

Walker Modular will design, manufacture and supply more than 600 high-end bathroom pods to the Foster + Partners designed tower in a deal thought to be worth around £5.5m

Walker Modular has set up a dedicated production line for Berkeley Group at its recently completed fourth purpose-built steel factory in Hull to produce the high-end pods.

Installation work at the Docklands site of the 198 metre tower is expected to start in the last quarter of this year.

It will sit alongside the Phase 1 68-storey Valiant Tower which is nearing completion and the 36-storey Berwick Tower where work is yet to begin.

Once complete, South Quay Plaza will provide over 1,300 homes, with the three towers set within 2.6 acres of public gardens landscaped by HTA Design, alongside varied commercial and retail space that will create a vibrant waterside hub.
