The Papworth Hospital Trust aims to build the 290-bed purpose-built privately financed hospital on an 8-acre site at the Cambridge Biomedical Campus at an estimated cost £150m.
The services at Papworth Hospital are currently provided on a cramped site of buildings, many of which were not designed for the delivery of modern healthcare.
The existing site will be sold off for redevelopment when the hospital moves in five years time.
Construction work on the new hospital is expected to start within two years, followed by a three-year time frame for construction and commissioning.
Requests for further information must be made by 22 September to Ken Brewer at the foundation trust.
Papworth Hospital decided to move to the Cambridge Biomedical Campus adjacent to Addenbrooke’s Hospital and the Clinical School rather than redevelop the existing Papworth Everard site.
