Dundee City Council has confirmed the pool will not now open to the public until the summer school holidays next year.

Mansell is now due to hand over the completed new Olympia and adjoining multi-storey car park to the city council next spring.

There will be a transitional period for the pool operators, Leisure and Culture Dundee to prepare the new building, fully test plant, procedures and systems before opening to the public.

Rumours about delays to the project had been circulating in the local press but were dismissed by Mansell as “absolute poppycock”

The project was originally due to be handed over by the end of this year and open early in 2013.
