The deal to build 360 flats shows Carillion’s growing confidence to take on competitive London residential jobs since it landed the £400m first phase flats project for the Battersea Power Station development.
The Tidal Basin Road scheme is situated to the north west of the Royal Docks, near the Excel exhibition centre on a roundabout site and is being developed by Hub Residential.
Originally one of the towers was planned as a hotel but this has been switched for twin residential buildings in the face of surging demand for housing in the capital.
Final building heights have changed since the £80m development plan switched from a 25-storey residential block with 17-storey hotel.
Construction is expected start in April and to run for 100 weeks, completing in early 2016.
