The race for pole position is now being hotly contested after being dominated by Balfour Beatty for several years.
Over the last three months alone Balfour Beatty, Laing O’Rourke and now Kier have each ranked top for most orders secured in the annualised league.
During July, Kier snapped up 44 jobs worth around £650m, helped by a string of Smart motorway jobs announced by Highways England in a £1.5bn clutch of contract awards that also boosted Vinci, Carillion, Galliford Try and Balfour Beatty orders during July.
