According to construction information specialist Glenigan, Morgan Sindall remains the most successful contractor at securing work over the last 12 months with Sir Robert McAlpine now in second place in the 12-month league followed by Kier and Laing O’Rourke.

Among the other big jobs awarded in a busy month of contract wins Kier secured a £50m social science hub project for the University of Sheffield.
Laing O’Rourke was confirmed as main contractor on the £110m Starlight Theatre scheme in Manchester for Allied London and the city council.
Also in Manchester, John Sisk won the £90m office project at the Circle Square development for developer Bruntwood.
Wates bagged a £73m scheme to regenerate the Arthur Street housing estate at Bexley in London for Orbit housing associate, while Winvic secured another major warehouse scheme worth £70m in Doncaster for joint clients, Lidl and Verdion.
