Pilkington subsidiary Quiligotti specialises in hardwood and acoustic flooring for the commercial construction and housing sectors.

Pilkington supplies tiles to retail chains including B&Q and has appointed Paul Flint and Brian Green from the Manchester office of KPMG Restructuring as joint administrators.

There have been no official redundancies so far but all staff have been sent home for a few days while their futures are decided.

Flint said the firm had “suffered intense cash flow pressures as a result of recent adverse trading conditions”.

KPMG will continue trading the business while it seeks a buyer.
