The firm said it is now gearing up at its Leeds office to take on two projects for Barratt/David Wilson Homes.
At a 169-home scheme in Wyke, Hewlett will construct the roads and sewers worth around £1.2m, and in Morley it will deliver construction of foundations and external works for 169 homes under a £4m deal.
Persimmon Homes has also signed up Hewlett to construct a new roundabout at the entrance of a major housing development in Doncaster on Bawtry Road along with alterations to the existing highway.
The onsite works require Hewlett to construct a new access road onto the site.
This road will be extended in the future under another contract for access to a further 900 homes, a retirement village, shops and a new school including all associated infrastructure.
Alan Cooper, Hewlett managing director, said: “These new contracts with Barratt and Persimmon Homes are positive signs that construction activity is on the rise.
“We are especially thrilled to be awarded our first contract with Persimmon Homes.”
He said an uplift in residential, industrial and commercial work was helping Hewlett to move closer to hitting its growth targets.
“The award of these contracts in addition to others earlier in the year plus the positive outcome of tenders that are in the pipeline, provides a strong foundation for this financial years’ workload.”
Hewlett, which employs 300 staff out of its head office in Leeds, and smaller offices in Leamington Spa, Corby and Perth has also expanded its operations in to the Middle East and has an office in Muscat, Oman.
