Colmore Tang has grown rapidly since its launch in 2014 for the one-off build of the 253-bed Park Regis Hotel in Birmingham.

The contractor has gone on to complete more than 1,000 residential units with a further 3,000 in the pipeline.

Company turnover is projected to hit £100m next year as Colmore Tang continues to transform unloved parts of Birmingham, Worcester, Liverpool and Basingstoke.

Andy Robinson, who was managing director of Colmore Tang Construction at its launch, has been appointed as CEO of the combined businesses.

He said: “Three years of rapid growth, building a team and delivering quality projects has helped us to identify some transferable skill sets that can be used to fill gaps in the market, where competitors either lack capacity or have a reluctance to deal with project sizes that would be ideal for us.

“The new companies, the new group, and my role as CEO have been created to make sure that we are able to concentrate on each specialism without detracting from the success we have built so far within the construction business.

“We have a very healthy pipeline of projects and with the team, skills and network of loyal local subcontractors and suppliers we have built up over the last three years, now is the right time to diversify and take advantage of the opportunities that there are within the market.

“Neil Walters will continue with his excellent work as Managing Director at Colmore Tang Construction, with senior appointments in the new businesses still to be announced.

“A number of new roles will be created and we expect to be recruiting key people in the very near future, including design specialists, project managers, quantity surveyors, commercial managers, contract managers, site and support staff, in the coming months.”

Neil Martin, Finance Director at Colmore Tang Construction, will now take the role of Group CFO, working with Andy Robinson across the group of companies.

The company is a Top Ten winner in this year’s Construction Enquirer Awards
