Procurement chiefs aim to reshape future procurement strategy to bring it into step with the Government’s Construction Playbook priorities and the Transforming Infrastructure Performance Roadmap to 2030.

They also aim to build on the new specification for more sustainable school buildings and see the supply chain rise to the challenge of delivering carbon net zero in operation schools.

The DfE plans to stage a major supply chain summit in Birmingham next month to set out its ideas.

DfE currently manages two bespoke frameworks for school buildings – the Offsite Schools Framework, which is due to expire in 2024, and the Construction Framework 2021.

The market engagement event will outline the current method for delivery of schools and present DfE Capital’s current challenges and priorities.

DfE is seeking market feedback on how the supply chain can help DfE to achieve these priorities to 2030 and beyond.
