Salford-based education buying body Crescent Purchasing Consortium has selected 50 contractors and demolition specialists for a new eight-year construction framework targeted at building projects across England, Wales and Scotland.

The Construction & Capital Works framework is designed to support new-build and refurbishment projects for schools, colleges, universities, academies, museums and wider public sector clients.

The agreement is split into 45 regional and contract-form lots covering JCT, NEC4, design and build, PCSA-backed projects and demolition work.

Galliford Try emerged as one of the biggest winners, securing places across England, Wales and Scotland, while Graham, Seddon, CBES, GMI Construction and Vinci Facilities also featured heavily across multiple regions.

The framework is due to start on 1 July and will initially run for two years with options to extend by a further six years.

CPC has given each lot an indicative value of around £211m, giving the framework a total potential spend of roughly £9.5bn over its full eight-year term, including extension options. Each lot relates to the various contract forms used in the market.
