The development will form the first phase of a wider campus planned to provide ten data halls.
John F Hunt is expected to deliver a complex remediation programme involving preparation of the 41-acre site near the M25/M40 interchange through a fast-track 17-week programme, addressing the historic landfill and preparing platforms for the data halls.
The package includes in excess of 40,000 cu mtrs of bulk excavation, replacement of made ground and compaction to establish formation levels, together with the installation of engineered capping. The scope of works also covers a site-wide gas protection system and drainage provision ahead of the main construction.
The Enquirer understands a raft of contractors are chasing the main construction deals including Skanska and Sisk.
The project forms part of CyrusOne’s continued expansion of its UK hyperscale data centre pipeline as demand for cloud and AI infrastructure continues to grow.
