The contract will be funded by a partnership of three companies, Chivas Brothers, Diageo and Ian MacLeod Distillers.

Connection to the gas network will help reduce the distilleries’ carbon footprints by cutting their reliance on fuel oil and ending the need for delivery by road tankers during the summer months.

The new pipeline will serve the Speyside distilleries, Tamdhu, Dalmunach, Cardhu and Knockando.

Work will begin next month and be delivered by a dedicated team of project managers and engineers led by Fulcrum.

The company took its installation team in-house earlier this year when  more than 100 staff transferred over from contractor McNicholas.
