It follows several deals in the last 18 months that put the private builder on course to fulfil its ambition to be a major residential developer in London and the South East.

The £100m development scheme in Mill Hill will see the firm build a 159 private sale homes along with a further 29 affordable homes that will be developed by Regen’s private sale residential brand, Prime Place.

The site has outline planning and a Broadway Malyan design will now be submitted for full planning in spring 2016 for the development, branded Prime Place, Millbrook Park.

This latest development follows last month’s planning green light for Brentford FC’s new 20,000 seat stadium that will also see 900 new homes created on two sites.

Willmott Dixon’s other major schemes include 600 homes for private rent in Barking, 135 homes in Godalming, a further 88 in Cheshunt and 95 in Sevenoaks, which involves converting a former office into a residential block.

It is also behind 1,176 homes at Aberfeldy Village in Poplar E14 and expects to start work shortly to deliver 156 homes with Westminster City Council that includes new leisure facilities on two sites.

Andrew Telfer, chief executive at Willmott Dixon Regen, said: “Millbrook Park’s high quality mix of one and two-bedroom apartments, together with a number of three and four-bedroom houses in a popular location with good transport links, exactly fits the scale and type of homes we develop through Prime Place.

“Our ambition in 2016 is to continue to grow the number of homes we are developing, either on site or going through planning, for both Prime Place and Be:here, our private market rent business.

“Our ability to combine these two strong brands to develop homes for both private sale and private rent is also unlocking wider opportunities and helping to accelerate the delivery of hundreds of homes in the capital.”

This acquisition represents the latest phase of Millbrook Park’s regeneration that is creating a new community in north London.

When complete, there will be 2,174 new homes set in landscaped parkland, together with shops, offices and a new primary school.
