Winners named for £1.5bn North East civils framework

The North East Procurement Organisation has unveiled the line-up for a major new regional civil engineering framework worth as much as £1.5bn over four years.

More than a dozen North East local authorities, as well as education and health authorities are signed up to use the new framework.

Morgan Sindall, Esh, Galliford Try, Carillion and Farrans are among the firms to feature highly across six work categories covering infrastructure projects, highways, highways structures, coastal, drainage and public realm works.

In total 23 contractors have secured places on one or more lots that together could account fora spend of £900m-£1.5bn, estimates NEPO.

Sunderland City Council, acting on behalf of NEPO, awarded places on the framework which aims to achieve big cost savings on infrastructure and civil engineering projects.
