Betting Spy: Bolton big price to beat Chelsea

There are two-and-a-half million unemployed people in this country. And yet Avram Grant has still got a job, clinging on like a superglued barnacle at West Ham.

The fella is certainly a survivor.

But his continued presence in the dugout means the Hammers look nailed-on for relegation with a toxic mix of an undermined manager, underperforming players, fed-up fans and a boardroom run like something from a Three Stooges film.

Betting Spy could have done with some of Avram’s luck last week when both our tips hit the post and bounced out.

Everton let a lead slip after silencing the Kop and Arsenal failed to score the fourth goal we needed after getting bored with toying with West Ham.

So let’s get some of that cash back this week and a good place to start is the Reebok where Bolton look a huge price to beat a Chelsea side which is still struggling horribly.

Owen Coyle will set the Trotters up to go for the jugular and an early goal could shatter Chelsea’s fragile confidence and land us the 9/2 on offer from Paddy Power for a home win.

Wolves are the other standout bet at home at 9/4 with the same firm to beat Liverpool.

Wolves have already beaten the Reds in their own backyard and while the fans are happy about the return of King Kenny, there is little evidence on the pitch that Liverpool are playing any better.

Bookies often take a while to wise up to a struggling team. But they’ve got nothing on Sky Sports commentators.

The lads were at it again at the Spurs v Man Utd game last week hailing the match as a classic. The first 20 minutes was fairly sparky but I almost dozed off after that despite the eulogies of Andy Gray et al.

And why do all ex-pros keep making excuses for Wayne Rooney? Week after week he has a stinker but no-one dare say it.

It’s a bizarre case of the Emperor’s new shell-suit. Rooney has not had a great game since before the World Cup but the commentators stay schtum as he miscontrols yet another pass or shoots wildly into Row Z.

No doubt he will have a blinder now and score the goal of the season. Let’s hope the Sky lads don’t explode.
