Hudson offers tax advice to Speedy customers

CIS tax specialist Hudson Contract has linked-up with Speedy Hire to offer its payroll services to members of the rental giant’s new members-only club for tradespeople and small contractors.

Hudson will provide advice to members of Speedy Assist who are looking to keep their workers self-employed rather than on PAYE.

Hudson director Ian Anfield said: “We are looking forward to showing Speedy Assist members how to be better equipped to compete for business, while simultaneously reducing their tax and employment liabilities to zero.

“Thousands of construction companies are still too scared to use self-employed labour in case they fall foul of HMRC’s strict status requirements and end up with huge penalties and fines.

“But PAYE is not the only way – and we will show Speedy Assist members how best to profit from the flexibility that freelance builders deliver.

“On average, we help companies save 20% on their labour costs, making them instantly better equipped to win new business.

“Then there are the SMEs whose contracts of self-employment work just fine – until an HMRC status inspection decides the documentation isn’t worth the paper it’s written on.  That can prove so costly that firms have no option but to go into administration.

“All Speedy Assist members will be entitled to a free CIS compliance health check on their current arrangements, and will be able to tap into our wealth of knowledge and experience in relation to employment tribunals and gross payment status.”

John Byrne, product development director at Speedy added:  “We selected Hudson Contract because they are the only organisation that passes HMRC’s ‘due diligence for labour providers’ requirements.

“Additionally, they will offer Speedy Assist members a 100% guaranteed indemnity that covers them against the financial consequences of an HMRC compliance investigation or an employment tribunal case.

“Via www.speedyassist.co.uk, SMEs and tradesmen are able to access a range of products and services designed to help them win business.

“We’re confident that the addition of Hudson’s CIS Payroll services to this portfolio will allow members to become even better equipped for the marketplace.”
